While Myrtle Beach City Council talked about developing downtown this week, City Manager John Pedersen briefly mentioned a chunk of oceanfront land outside of the city limits that may be used for development.

Call Lakewood Camping Resort. Email Lakewood Camping Resort. Good Campground for kids easy beach access no motorcycles or scooters cannot bring your own golf cart have to rent theres very very pricey much rather stay at the State Park. Stayed on site FHU site. Overall, very pleased with: the site location and size for my 38 ft MH, 50 amp power stability, food services, and pool. However, for the money, they should do a better job of pre visit site clean up and maintain grass. Additionally, WiFi is terrible. No need for bath houses, so not sure on the conditions. We reserved 2 sites across from the bathouse, thinking we could use it? We got the requested sites however the bathouse was closed then the next closest one was closed the morning after we arrived. We tried the next closest which was about 10 or 12 rows away and it had no hot water the entire weekend? I asked management to explain this and they said «sorry we didn’t know they were shutting them down». They made no effort to satisfy our family. Then to top it off we called for them when we saw the transformer in front of us smoldering and eventually blowing up causing us and most of campground to lose power for about 6 to 8 hours. First impressions go along way so we most likely will not revisit this campground. However, the site we got was at the back of the park and was basically a dirt lot. State parks have concrete pads for the most part and at a much better rate. The dirt wouldn’t have been a huge turn off if it hadn’t rained every day for a week, but unfortunately it did. So we got to muck through the biggest mud hole you’ve ever seen, each and every day. The kids loved it. They did have security guards throughout the park, but I’m not sure what purpose they served. There are preteens hot rodding carts every where so don’t look down while walking around. The water park is pretty cool but really the only redeeming quality outside of the actual beach. We’ll be trying ocean lakes property next time we get a hankering for salt air.
Easy to Find, Hard to Leave Oceanfront Resort in Myrtle Beach: Insights on Lakewood Camping Resort from Owner Blayne Perry
Mollee D. Voted one of five Best Beachfront RV Parks, Lakewood Camping Resort is a favorite travel and vacation destination for campers, RV enthusiasts, and villa lovers, with extraordinary oceanfront access, and endless lake and water park entertainment for all budgets. An actor, writer and director working in New York City for years, Perry is writing his next chapter in hospitality in the Grand Strand, and loving every minute of it. I was having tremendous success in my career and was raising my family in one of the greatest, most culturally rich cities in the world, but knew something was still missing. So, we sold everything, put our kids in school on the Internet, to travel the world. When that was over, we decided to come back to the resort and moved into one of the beach front villas. I live here to this day. Both of my kids also live here in their own villas. Both of my parents have since passed and now my siblings and I have taken a more active role in the family business. I miss NYC sometimes. I did spend 27 of my most formative years there. But Lakewood is my home. The people you get to engage with on a regular basis are amazing. While they are strangers, they never feel like that. They feel like family. That is the value here not just to our guests but to our family as owners. I had a clever grandfather, brilliant father, amazing aunts, uncles, siblings and cousins that all bring unique talents to this business.
